Biography:

Once the biggest pop star on the planet, it would be fair to say that today Boy George still remains a household name throughout the globe. A musical chameleon since the late 70’s, when he first begun DJing, the presence of Boy George has continually illuminated both music charts and, for better or worse, column inches of the media spotlight.

With both his DJ and live plans locking horns in 2010, George has stepped forward into a new decade with a fresh and somewhat steadfast vitality to a multitude of exciting projects.  Currently halfway through a tour of the UK, taking in events with Ministry of Sound, Cream and Garlands, George is once again charming club crowds around the country after a short hiatus from the dance floor on home soil.

Alongside this run of UK dates is an active production schedule involving new material and ideas. The culmination of this studio time is a handful of solo productions, such as his first major club release in over ten years. Amazing Grace – written by Boy George, John Themis & Roland Faber is produced & mixed by notorious remix duo The Sharp Boys. Amazing Grace takes Boy George back to pure, unadulterated pop music and sees the artist collaborating with critically acclaimed Portuguese singer Ana Lains to produce some hypnotic, unforgettable vocals. Delivered to the masses with an intense remix package including top club re-mixes from Kurd Maverick, The Sharp Boys, Filo & Peri, and Mac & Taylor, Amazing Grace was released on March 22nd 2010 and is currently #15 in the Cool Cut Top 20 chart.

Additionally his studio time has included a slew of side collaborations with global star J-Lo, Mike Snow and hot-shot producer Mark Ronson. Other projects on the horizon include dance heavyweights Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero, Matt Darey and Junior Sanchez.

Having made recent appearances on shows such as ‘Friday Night with Jonathan Ross’, ‘The One Show’, ‘Alan Carr’s – Chatty Man’ (BBC 1), ‘Later with Jools Holland’s Christmas Hootenanny’ (BBC 2), GMTV, Loose Women (ITV), Angela and Friends (Sky TV) and CNN, the spotlight that has often fallen too much on George’s iconic media statues is now firmly fixed on his musical output.  Furthermore 2010 will see a one-off special BBC documentary revisiting the period in George’s life before Culture Club.  The small screen special, called ‘Worried about The Boy’ which will chronicle the early days before he went on to sell 22 million albums worldwide, features British actor Matt Horne and Douglas Booth.  This programme will then be followed up by a VH1 special, who have commissioned a 6 part series that will follow George’s current return to musical form. The show is scheduled to air September of this year.

An exciting position for one of the dance scenes most charismatic figures, as he builds up to a new world tour that will see the British music legend taking to international skies for dates in South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Bulgaria, Belgium, Switzerland, Malta, Italy, Canada, Turkey and South America.
